Hotels and B&Bs

Hi Everyone,

Couple questions:

#1) I know brides and grooms generally spend the night before the wedding in separate places. Is it tradition for brides/maids/moms to stay in a hotel together (not all in the same room, of course), or is this just something that some people do?

#2) Is a B&B appropriate for a wedding night stay? We are getting married in my hometown which is fairly industrial and just outside of a major city, so the hotels here are not the kinds of hotel I'd envision for my wedding night. There is, however, a georgeous B&B that I'm considering. (http://www.bbcanada.com/10408.html?showpage=3).

These seem like silly questions, so I'm sorry if the answer might seem obvious. I'm new to the wedding-traditions realm.

  • 1) It is traditional for the bride and groom to spend the night before the wedding apart, but who you stay with is just optional/up to you.  I didn't spend the night before my wedding with my BMs because they are all married with husbands and kids and I knew they'd want to be with them.  I stayed at my parents house for the night.  Do what works best for you.

    2) Sure, you can stay anywhere you want on your wedding night!  We stayed at a local B&B on our wedding night and our out of town guests stayed at the local hotel.
