Flowers for a Hindu Ceremony

We are having a Hindu Ceremony and need some ideas as to where we can get flowers for the garlands.

Re: Flowers for a Hindu Ceremony

  • I would suggest asking the person who is providing your mandap.... our mandap person is getting the garlands for us.  If he/she doesn't provide them, perhaps they can provide a recommendation as to who does.  Also you can ask your officiant for recommendations or perhaps ask your florist if they can make them.  Good luck!  Also - you may want to try posting this on the South Asian board - there are a lot of Indian brides on there who may have other suggestions.

  • You could always ask your florist do to them for you, too. Just provide them with a picture of what you're looking for and they should be able to recreate it for you.

One bride on the South Asian board is going to use Hawaiian leis instead of the traditional garland. Here is the company she is looking at: http://www.hawaiiflowerlei.com/

  • Originally we wanted to do marigolds, but according to the florist, it's not a good idea - after it starts to give a scent...

We went with carnations for the mandap, and garlands as well as for flowers for our guests to throw for blessings.

You can see at the link here, where members talk about online sources of garlands.
