Italian Weddings.

o boy. that is all I have to say. A lot of food. Alot of personality. Alot of expense. Enough to make me want to elope sometimes! Any advice on how to deal with all the expectations and stubborness other Italian wedding ladies?

    This is all great advice! My fiance and I live in DC but he is from Long Island. His Italian family is expecting the whole nine yards (tons of food, live band, etc.). I'm low key and would love to get married in a historic home in Virginia, but to get the kind of food required for an Italian wedding here is VERY expensive. It's not the norm and therefore doesn't come with a standard catering package. Any advice on what to do? Should I just have the wedding in Long Island to avoid any drama? Or is there an AFFORDABLE way to have a wedding that reflects the Italian side with more of a southern vibe here in Virginia?
