Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

Ceremony Location in Fort Worth

I am looking at booking my reception at either Diamond Oaks Country Club, or at a hotel in the downtown Ft. Worth area...any suggestions for ceremony sites that are close by? All of our family is from out of town, so we don't want to send them trecking around Fort Worth trying to find the reception after the ceremony. Also, any other suggestions for reception or ceremony/reception venue in that area would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Re: Ceremony Location in Fort Worth

  • The Marty Leonard chapel is in Fort Worth and is GORGEOUS. I am directionally challenged though and I'm not sure how close it is to Downtown.

Could you just have it at the country club? I think they have the gazebo that fits quite nicely. March shouldn't be too bad (just have a backup plan).

There is also the Marty Leonard Chapel (although might be far), Rose Chapel, and the Northeast Wedding Chapel.

  • Marty Leonard isn't too far from downtown, you would need to go west on i-30 for a couple of miles to the hulen exit and then you're basically there, its behind central market if that helps. chateau at forest park is closer to downtown, they have a lot of options for various wedding and/or reception packages.
  • 809 at Vickery was our 2nd choice...we ended up going with a place in Dallas but it's a beautiful space!
  • When is your wedding? I have friends who got married at the botanical gardens in Ft Worth, then had their reception at the YWCA downtown which was conveniently located to a lot of hotels.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

I was just at the Marty Leonard Chapel this past weekend for a freind's wedding - it was so gorgeous, and the acoustics were wonderful for the piano and singers. The grounds are very pretty, too, for photos.
  • Thank you so much for the suggestions! We are actually going to look at the Northeast Wedding Chapel as well! And yes, the Marty Leonard is beautiful...but one of my sisters got married there recently so unfortunately it is not an option.

Are there any actual churches that you are familiar with that allows outside officiants that is in the area and would look nice in pictures?

I agree with being confused about not being able to use it because your sister did. Are you able to use it and would just rather not duplicate her location? Do you and your sister not get along? Being able to share that in common with my sister would be a plus and not a dealbreaker, but thats just me.
I also agree with checking out rentmychurch.com--this is how I found my ceremony location.
  • Sorry for the confusion; I would just prefer to not use the same church and was just asking for alternative options.

<div>I just feel like if it's a place that's special to you or just above and beyond the rest (and I hear it's gorgeous), I would go for it.  Don't let the fact that someone already had your wedding there be the only reason you rule it out.  =)</div>

Rose chapel?  Belltower Chapel?  Robert Carr?

I would also look into a ceremony option at your venue.  I got married at a hotel but still had my ceremony outside on the terrace and then had my reception in the ballroom.

  • Personally, I LOVE Belltower Chapel and Gardens.  I shot a wedding there last fall and was madly in love with the gorgeous stained glass windows.
