I am getting married on March 17, 2012 and am looking for some menu ideas. Wedding is at a relative's beautiful home and she used to be a caterer and will be doing all the food so I can pretty much create whatever we want. FI's family is Irish and mine is Italian. We are not looking for boiled dinner or spaghetti and meatballs, but do want to incorporate some fares of both sides with a "St. Patrick's Day" theme. For example, one idea I had was mini-shepherd pies as one of the apps. There will be a pasta dish - perhaps stuffed shells with alfredo and pesto (green for the day!) What foods are "Irish" that we could put a twist on? We will be having a vanilla cake with Bailey Irish Creme buttercreme filling and a platter of Italian pasteries for dessert!
