I'm extremely practical and want everything to be beautiful as well as functional. Unity candles are an important tradition in my family but my ceremony will be on the rooftop terrace at a museum and I'm afraid wind will make it impossible to keep a candle lit. I love the idea of the sand ceremony as a substitue but don't want to have to dust a jar of sand every time I clean. I was thinking we would combine the two and use wax crystals that pour like sand into a glass jar with a wick in place. This way we will be making our own unity candle at the ceremony. What do you think?
