Chinese/ American Ideas

Does anyone have any good websites or books that they have found really helpful when planning an Anglo/Chinese wedding?

Thanks!Wink

Re: Chinese/ American Ideas

  • Our celebrant and MCs are multilingual, and will be doing some key moments in both English and Mandarin. But I think the Chinese tradition is really for the "wedding" itself to be more private and with family only, and for the public ceremony to be more or less Western style, with a Chinese banquet following. We are doing the tea ceremonies before noon with families only. You could consider doing the three bows instead of Western style vows if you do a public style ceremony.

My sense is that the few books that are out there are not very good, but there's a little bit of information online. Mooncakes and Hungry Ghosts does have a small bit on weddings, though some of the information is more on the historical side.
