BRIDE AND GROOM DANCE

neither of us like to dance and are trying to avoid the traditional bride and groom dance, any suggestions on how to get around this?

Re: BRIDE AND GROOM DANCE

  • Just don't do it.  Some things aren't requirements you know?  You can skip all the dances if you want.  You don't have to have dancing at all if you don't think your guests would dance.  It's really up to you.

  • We didn't have any dancing at all at our wedding.  Still had a lot of fun.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Yep, just don't do it.  You don't have to do any of the spotlight dances.
  • If you still wanted to do something, but don't feel comfortable being out there alone dancing, you could start dancing and then have your bridal party come meet you out there or even your parents/grandparents or something.  This would take some of the attention of you.
  • You're not required to have a first dance.  It's just a tradition, and if it's one you're not comfortable with then it's OK to not do it.  You can absolutely skip it.

If you wanted to do something in replacement of it, you could bring in some sort of entertainment if you wanted, or you could do a slideshow showing your time together in your relationship, ...  The sky and your budget are really the limits.
