Bride and Groom gifts for each other???

Hi,

My fiance and I are pretty traditional, so we want to give one another gifts on our wedding day. We just aren't certain how much of our budget we should set aside for that. My wedding planner book says 3% of our budget should go to all gifts for us and wedding party included, but that just doesn't seem reasonable (we have a large wedding party). Does anybody have any advice on how much to spend and/or what I should get him? I know watches are traditional, but I've given him several throughout our relationship already.

Thanks!
Cydni

Re: Bride and Groom gifts for each other???

  • I'm kind of going over the top with my gift to my groom so I guess I'm the odd ball here. I am losing a good amount of weight for our wedding (40 lbs so far and about 40+ more to go). So I'm doing something that I know he won't expect. I decided to do a Boudoir session with our photographer. Its an hour or two session of you in sexy lingerie or I've seen just sexy dresses too. Then you get an album of the pictures to give him. Depending on the photographer these can be expensive. But I have seen some that do marathon days and you just set up a half hour time slot and its much cheaper, plus less overwhelming. Just a thought.
  • If it's not in your budget, skip it. You're probably already spending lots of cash on the wedding and/or HM. We are just getting each other's cards and writing nice letters in them to each other to exchange the morning of our wedding. We didn't want to spend anymore money than that on a gift when our "gift" is enjoying our HM together that will cost lots of dough.
