I am engaged to a great Dutch guy - but have run into the problem that I'd love to involve some Dutch traditions in the event, but he doesn't know any (my mother points out, guys are clueless about weddings in ANY culture!) and when we try to ask his mother she only tells us that "It's very different in Holland, you can do anything you want, it's up to the individual." (there's a bit of a language barrier, she doesn't seem to understand we want traditional, not what they do now).
SO! Anyone out there that knows any Dutch wedding traditions? I have googled it and found information about planting flowers around the newlywed's house and a little bit about the couple sitting under evergreen boughs (which I am going to use, since it's a winter wedding I think it's an appropriate choice!) but any other ideas and knowledge on this would be really helpful!
