Hi all,
After much discussion we have decided on our invitation wording. My FI's father passed away several years ago and we do want to aknowledge him on our invites ( and we hate the wording "the late"). My parents are hosting so the whole "a deceased person can't host the event" is not an issue. Below is our wording:
John and Jane Doe
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Sarah Elizabeth
to
John Peter Smith
Son of †John W. and Mary Smith
on Saturday...
My question is what is the propor use of the cross †. Does this go before of after the name of the deceased?
