My fiance and I are throwing around the idea of just getting married at the JP, just having a more intimate ceremony and less of a production, but then still having the reception to celebrate with everyone, as planned. Has anyone ever gone to a reception for someone where you haven't actually attended the ceremony. I know a lot of people do this but then the reception tends to be more of a casual event. We'd still like to wear our wedding dress and tux and pretty much have the same exact reception that we've been planning. Does it make any difference if we would get married like a month before we would hold the reception or would it make sense to get married that day or the day before the reception. Was anyone offended that they weren't invited to the ceremony and only to the reception. There is a lot more to this decision that I don't want to get into on here, so basically just looking for thoughts and opions on having private ceremonies along with a reception/celebration later.
