Bridal Showers

does it always have 2 be someone in the wedding party who host your shower.

Re: Bridal Showers

  • Nope.  The only person who can't host the shower is the bride.
  • i believe traditionally its not supposed to be someone in the wedding party or immediate family (although these days that is typical and perfectly ok).  But I think it used to be an Aunt, or the mother of the bride's best friend.

So, no it definitely does not have to be someone in the bridal party
  • Anyone can host pre-wedding parties and showers. Traditionally it is the MOH and/or the BM's. But it is becoming more popular for the bride's Mom, Grandma, Aunts, family friends, etc to hold showers in the brides honor.
  • Anyone can throw a shower.  Traditionally, it was rude for the bride's immediate family to do it, so it became typical for WP to do it.  But now, it is perfectly fine for the bride's mother to host in the majority of circles, so the WP doing it is not as expected.  Anyone that wants to can offer to throw one.
  • It could be anyone except for you!
