Bridal Party Seating

Here are the facts: We are not having a sweetheart table, instead, we'd like to eat with our friends and family. Our plan was to have a large table and sit with our bridal party and their significant others and children.

However, once we add in us, all bridal party members, their SOs, and their children, we don't have enough seats for everyone at that one table. We're about 2 seats short.

Splitting up SOs from the bridal party is not an option. Having a seperate children's table isn't an option as some of the children aren't old enough to eat on their own.

Would it be weird to seat one or two of the bridal party members and their SOs at different tables? There is another table filled with their friends, so it's not like they'd be at a table where they don't know anyone.

Or, any other ideas?

What about sitting with your MOH, BM and their dates at a table, then everyone else at another table?


ETA - or have the rest of the WP sat throughout the room with people they would have sat with if they weren't in the WP

I wouldnt single out one or 2, that would be wierd, but what if you did something like pp said and just sit with you your groom your MOH and BM (and families) and sit any others in the bridle party at a seperate table, so theres a whole other "Bridal Party Table" instead of just a few of them being singled out?

The weddings I've been to in the last two or three years had the WP sitting at different tables with the guests and the B&G either sitting with the parents, with their MOH, BM and dates or at a sweetheart table.

Any way you do that might seem strange.  I would bite the bullet and compromise.  We did the head table with SO sitting with family/friends.  It worked out perfect.  After the WP ate, they moved to the tables that their SO were at.

One more thought...could you put a chair at each table end or add a smaller table on one end and hid that it is seperate with a tablecloth.

Considering the WP moved it's pretty obvious they were not happy at their original table.

How many kids are there?  Might there be 2 or 3 younger ones that can eat on their own?  I know at my brother's wedding, he had his wife's son and a friend his age at a table just the two of them.  They liked it cause they could goof around and not be around adults all night.
