Jumping the broom

My Fiance wants to "jumpt the broom"  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_broom 

How do we do this without making it a big spectical or feeling absolutely rediculous? Has anyone seen this at a wedding before and what did you think?
