Down the aisle...

Traditionally, the bride's father walks her down the aisle. My father passed away when I was 9 and my mom remarried when I was 13. Though my stepfather and I have had our moments both good and bad, I am considering having my older brother walk me down the aisle. How should I explain this to my mom and stepdad? I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I also want to do what I feel in my heart is the right thing for me...

I just got married and my fathe has passed away so my 28 yr old son did it very empotional moment.

I agree 100%.  It's okay if your brother walks you down especially if you are really close with him, your folks would understand. 

Are you going to be doing some kind parent dance?  Because if you do you can dance with your stepdad there. (if you want of course)

I'm having both of my parents walk me down the aisle, as they both raised me and I don't think its fair to my mom to only have my dad walk me down. I don't think it is necessary to have your father walk you down the aisle, I don't even think you need anybody to walk you down the aisle. Your stepdad loves you and I'm sure he will understand your choice.

Once you ask your brother to do the honors, I would think the two of you would talk about it quite naturally.  You don't really need to explain it to anyone.  Good luck!
