Have you decided what vendor you are using for makeup and hair?  Just wondering since I'm trying to book someone soon. :)

I actually haven't yet but also need to book someone soon, haha. I went and spoke with some ladies at the Hair Studio Sonterra in NE SA. I can't remember the lady's name now, but she seemed really nice and like she'd do a good job. She told me they won't take reservations until 3-4 mo out though because they've had problems in the past with brides either changing their style (and price) or dates or something when they book too far out. This salon is not cheap though. I can't remember the quote for sure, but I think it was going to be around $125-140 for hair and make-up, and trial run and bridals are a separate cost.I did find a lady on craigslist who is self-employed and offers amazing prices (like $20-35 for hair AND make-up), and will come to you for free. I'm trying to set up a trial run with her (which she also does for free) because those prices are too good to miss out on. She did send me some pictures of her work, and from what I could tell it looked like she does a good job and has a lot of experience. You can email me at linzlars @ gmail . com for her contact info if you're interested.Have you narrowed it down at all? This seems to be something that there are so many choices and price ranges, and I just don't know how you pick one!

Hey! Thanks for the info.  I'll email you for her contact info.  I've looked into multiple places, including the Sontera salon....it's so tough to decide on this from out of town, though, so I've been putting it off.  haha.  My photographer wants to do bridals pretty soon though so I've recently been putting more time/effort into looking for someone.  I'm leaning currently toward Roseanne Harris....who someone on theknot recommended a long time ago (though now I can't remember who).  She was very nice on the phone, she has good online reviews, and her prices are in my range (I think it's $75 for the trial hair/makeup, $75 for bridal portraits hair/makeup, and $125 wedding day - she comes on location....and $75 for BM hair/makeup for the day of).  I'm waiting to get her brochure in the mail, but I think I'm going to come in town and try her out unless I can find some other outstanding recommendation.

YGM. :o)Yea, I've heard good things about Roseanne Harris too. Did you just request an info packet from her website or something? I think my hardest part is finding someone who is willing to work on Sunday and won't charge an obscene amount to do so. I never really thought about how having a Sunday wedding would work with vendors who aren't normally open then! I'll probably take a look at Roseanne too since she does come so highly recommended. If you end up doing a trial with her I'd love to hear all about it!

I just called Roseanne on the phone at 210-497-7644 and she said she would mail me a brochure.  You should call her just to chat!
