Groomsmen problem

My FI and I are getting married next April, but he is a GM in a wedding in September. Another friend who is in both weddings just informed my FI that he cannot afford to be in the September wedding and is going to tell that groom that he can't do it. My FI thinks it is ridiculous that I am upset thinking this GM will do the same thing to us and that I want to know ASAP if this guy thinks he can afford our wedding. We are not picking expensive tuxes, by any means. What should I do? This is really stressing me out and I do not want to find out two months before the wedding that we have to find another GM!

Re: Groomsmen problem

  • Just don't replace him if he drops out. Easy peasy fix.

  • You won't need to find a GM to replace him if he drops it because you shouldn't be replacing people; that's rude and makes them feel like crap. So you shouldn't have a problem.

  • it is never appropriate, polite, or correct to replace a wedding party member.  If he does drop out of your wedding, you will have one less groomsmen.  Period.
