Videographers?

I had decided not to have a videographer but now I'm having second thoughts....Has anyone come across any inexpensive vendors for videography?

I was thinking about not having a videographer as well. What made you change your mind?

A friend of mine seemed shocked that I wasn't planning on hiring a videographer, which also got me thinking. I'm still pretty sure we won't have one (don't really have the extra money), but the people I've talked to who used one were happy about having it for the ceremony and beginning of the reception (mainly the first dance). If you don't want to pay for a real videographer, you could always see if a friend would be willing to just turn on the camera for the ceremony and get the important parts of the reception.I have no idea how their videography service is, but I know my photographer's dad is a videographer. My photog actually got started under his dad's business filming and then moved on to taking pictures. Their business is called TiMachine Photography and Video: http://www.timachine.com/I love my photographer so I would trust his dad too. You could at least look into them and see what you think! Good luck!

To answer your question, I had cut several things out of my budget and have a teensy bit of wiggle room.  I've already splurged on my awesome photographer, but thought it would be nice to capture the day on video as well.  I don't think I have an video footage of my parents or my FI and me, and I thought it might be a nice occasion to get several snippets of my family.I looked on Criagslist and found several reasonable videographers.  Let me know if anyone else has any recommendations!!

I decided against having one myself just due to budget. I'm pretty sure someone in the family is going to be recording stuff anyway. I haven't really heard of anyone that I could recommend. Just be careful with any classified ad. I've always been one of the people who believe in you get what you pay for.Have you considered asking your photographer for recommendations? Sometimes they'll work with someone that films while they take pictures. It might lead to some sort of package deal for you.
