Groom + WP Attire Question

If groom will be wearing a Old Hollywood Glam tux (black pants, white jacket + shirt with black bow tie)...is it okay for the rest of the guys to wear a black suit? We're not having something super formal but just like the old vintage look. Wasn't sure if they had to have a tux or can they wear a suit instead for comfort.Is that weird? Also... the girls are all wearing different dresses/lengths/shades of deep purple. Should the groomsmen wear the same suits/tux or should they wear their own stuff they own?Please help!

I think black groomsman suits would look O.K. with the groom in a white jacket. If they already have plain black suits, I can't imagine that anyone would notice if they weren't perfectly matched. A suit is a suit is a suit, to most people. I wouldn't think to look for a difference between them, if they were all plain. I would talk to your FI first and see how he feels about everything, then talk to the groomsmen and see what they own and what they'd be willing to spend money on. Agreed... great photos and I like the idea of having your wedding party be coordinated, but individualized.  If they all stick to a black suit or tux it will look fantastic.... but mixing tuxes and suits can look odd.
