Wedding Party

Help!

We just found out my sister/MOH is pregnant and she's due April 18th, our wedding is March 26th. Of course I don't want to stress out my sister and I'm ecstatic to be a first time aunt so I told her not to worry but I'm freaking out. She lives 6 hours away and will have to travel a long distance just to get to the wedding. I've been with my fiance for 14 years and we are FINALLY getting married, I've been waiting forever. We've already chosen the dresses but thankfully haven't ordered them yet. Any advice?

Re: Help!

  • There's not much you can do...she may be able to come she may not...does the dress come in maternity sizes/styles? If so, see how close to the wedding date you can order the dress so it fits. If not, just get her a different dress -- she's the MOH so she can wear something different. Other than moving up your wedding date -- not much to do.

  • Play it by ear. She can always get a dress off the rack a week or two prior.

  • She may have to ask her dr if she can travel that far. Usually at 7 months (I think I don't remember what it was for me) that don't want pg women to travel that far.
  • Looks like there is not much you can do but wait.I had one friend that was confined to bed the last few months during her pregnancy. I had another friend working regular hours on her feet everyday until the week of her due date. She would have kept working, too, but she went into labor. And I had another friend who could get around just fine, but she kept falling asleep every five minutes. It really depends. I would wait to see what happens and if she can come, great... and at that point I would think everyone would be so grateful she made it, no one will care what she's wearing. And if not, well, then, make sure to take lots of pictures so she'll feel as though she were there. She might appreciate that.

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm just scared, I do not want to get married if my sister can't be there. She is also my best friend and my only sibling. This is her first baby and I can't wait for Peanut (that's my nickname for baby) to arrive.
