Is it okay to recycle flower girl dress

Here is my problem, my fiance's brother is getting married 3 weeks before i am, his sisters are in both weddings, as well as his niece. My question is is it okay to have the flower girl wear the same dress for both weddings. We are both using the fall colors so i'm not worried about the dress not matching. I also suggested his sister use the same bridesmaid dress for my wedding as well. Is this a really bad idea? I would hate to have her buy 2 dresses.

  • use the same ones, if u want them to wear diff. dresses pick them up something on the cheap

  • I think it's fine, and a kindness to your future sisters in law.As a guest I wouldn't care at all if someone wore the same BM dress and certainly not the same FG dress.  If FG dresses survive the first wedding without spills down the front, I say go for it.And most women that I know would be delighted to get two occasions out of what is usually a single use dress.Frankly, I find you to be VERY refreshing.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • No, it's not a bad idea.
  • I think it's perfectly fine..and very kind of you to suggest. If you would like to make them appear a little different, you can just switch up accessories or something...add a shrug or bolero, or change up the jewelry..it's amazing how different an outfit can look from one day to the next :D And most importantly, it's so thoughtful to be so considerate...a very good way to start off with your new family :)
  • I seriously doubt anyone will hold it against the bride/BM if the BM dress or FG dress was worn once before, and if they did it would be for good reasons.

  • If the dresses get stained, you can always get new ones from Marshall's or TJ Maxx or a department store. For the flower girl dress, ditto those stores plus Target.
