Wedding Party

Bachelorette Party

So just wondering when you girls are having your bachelorette party (it you are having one) in relation to your wedding...my BM's and I are trying to figure out a date and I am pretty flexible but 2 of them are OOT as are alot of my other friends who I would like to be there. We are getting married the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend so we were thinking the Friday before, is that to close to the wedding? I don't plan on getting too drunk but I plan on drinking and staying up late. We are also having our RD on Saturday before the wedding. Do you think Thursday would be better? I am not just worried less people will be able to make it. Thanks!

Re: Bachelorette Party

  • Just do whatever works best for you and your group. There's no mandatory timeframe. My BMs and some other friends mentioned a possible bachelorette, but since I'm still 6 months from my wedding no definite plans have been made, so I unfortunately can't help you there.

  • I don't think that is too close to the wedding at all, just make sure if you do drink to keep it in moderation so you don't end up looking red-eyed and hungover at the RD, pictures are taken then too! My MOH and 2 of my maids are OOT, and I know my MOH really wants to throw my bachelorette party so it will probably end up being something relatively mellow (no drinking binges) a few days before the wedding. Last summer my only in-town bridesmaid got married on a Saturday, the rehearsal dinner was the night before (Friday) and our low-key way fun bachelor/bachelorette party was at Dave and Busters on Thursday night. 3 days of so much fun!

  • Mine was about a week before the wedding. It served as a nice way to "count down" to the wedding. Sort of kicked off the festivities.

  • Mine was 3 weeks before the wedding, but I easily could've gotten married two days later. I didn't get sick or hung over, and wasn't tired or worn out. It depends what sort of bach party you have, whether you intend to get yourself completely toasted, how you handle your liquor, and your stamina and overall health.
