Random question about tuxes

Okay, so I know this is strange, because it's nothing I have ever thought of until we went to order the tuxes, but what is the norm when it comes to men's pleats in pants? We could do flat front, 1 pleat or 2 pleats. What is normal? It's nothing I've ever noticed, so I know it's not that big of a deal, but I'm just curious. The woman at MW told us that 1 pleat is most flattering, but I was watching What Not to Wear (yes, my guilty pleasure) and Clinton said no men should ever wear pleats. Any thoughts?

Re: Random question about tuxes

  • I've never thought about pleats on tuxes either.  I just thought they were all flat-front.  I agree with Clinton- no pleats look best.  All pleats do for me is add volume to my stomach area- something that I do not need more of.  :)
  • Flat front looks more modern Pleats minimize bulge So if heavy set GM 1 pleat if obease 2 pleats. But unless very wide flat front is best looking in my opinion mmmm men in tuxes mmmmm
  • It never came up. If your FI has no comment, go with whatever's cheaper. I guarantee 99.9999% of the guests won't notice or care. I also would always agree with Clinton--he hasn't steered me wrong yet.
