Junior Bridesmaid

Does anyone have any Jr. Bridesmaids? And are their dresses the same color as your Bridesmaid gowns? I have 6 Bridesmaids and 1 Jr. Bridesmaid. Both dresses are Watters and Watters in Tiffany Blue. The dress shops have informed me that since they are different style #'s, the Jr. Bridesmaid gown will not be cut from the same dye lot as the Bridesmaids. I'm afraid the color won't match. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Junior Bridesmaid

  • Dye lots do not really matter look at all the tiffany blue dresses in the dress shop next to one another they are all from different dye lots and it barely shows if at all. do not stress about this.
  • Junior Bridesmaids are the same thing as adult BMs. They just need to wear slightly different dresses because what's appropiate for a 20-something BM probably won't be appropriate for a younger girl. My BMs are 23 and 27 years old, so to answer your question - no, I don't have one that could be a "junior BM." If I did, I would either get them a dress in a color close to my adult BMs, or I'd find her a dress in my other wedding color. So the choice is yours as to whether you want to put her in Tiffany Blue or in a complemenntig color (maybe pink, chocolate, lime green, whatever else you're using - or a neutral color like white or champagne). I wouldn't worry about the dye lot. That is controlled by computers nowadays, and even if there IS a difference in colors it'll be so slight that nobody will even notice it. If there's ever been a dye difference in the BM dresses at any weddings I've ever attended, I've never noticed it. I've also seen lots of Knot bios where the BMs had ordered from different shops at different times, and I don't think I've ever seen a noticeable difference. Your guests won't be staring at them all night, don't worry. Are the dress shops encouraging you to buy her an adult BM dress and have it altered down to fit her? If so, I'm wondering if their real intention is to get you to spend more money on alterations through them.

  • I had 4 BMs. 2 got theirs from the same store (same dye lot). The other 2 got theirs from stores in NY and MIA (different dye lots). Take a look at the pictures and see if you can tell which two are the same.
  • Dye lots don't matter.

  • That is exactly what I needed to hear! Leah- You're wedding pictures are beautiful! And I can't tell a different with the Bridesmaid gowns! I am ordering two seperate dresses. I have 4 flower girls (2- 5yrs olds, 2-3 yr olds). My fiance's neice is 7 and is extremely tall so I wanted her to feel older and really important and wear a dress like the older girls. These is the bridesmaid dress that I liked the best, it does come with straps. http://watters.com/product.php?coll=wtoo&showid=1006 Matching junior bridesmaid dress. http://watters.com/product.php?coll=girls&showid=567
