26 Eh, yes and no. It really depends on the context. I don't really buy the "Age is just a number" if it's a 19 year-old wanting to get married, but I also think that being 30 doesn't automatically make you a mature adult who's ready for marriage. 187+ yearsa few days

DH and I have NEVER noticed the age difference because we are both on the same "trajectory", if you will, about life. 14. Longest relationship, dating-wise: 5 1/2 years. (Not DH, btw.) I'm 23, FI is 28.Yup.  Now that I'm over 21, sometimes I have to remind myself of my exact age.  Maturity is much more important.16.I only had I think three boyfriends before FI.  I just didn't date much.  I guess the longest relationship was maybe four months or so.One date.

Yeah, some people never do anything, but most of the 40 y/os I know have a lot more life experience than the 20 y/o's I know. That counts for something. How old were you when you had your first kiss? (We're talking tongue, people) 13, I think? It was at a middle school mixer. Longest relationship, dating wise? Beside with H, it was with my ex. We were off and on for about 5 years, all total we were together about 3. Shortest relationship, dating wise? I was bf/gf with a guy for less than a class period in about the 6th grade. I broke up with him right before the bell rang. I don't think we even got to the holding hands part. As a real person, I dated this guy for a week in college.

I'm 39, H is 31. (Good job, me!) Age is a number with a few repercussions (I get tired faster these days), but a birthday is just a reason to have a party. I was 15. Longest relationship was my last long-term one before H. Nearly 4 years. We're still friends, and he was at the wedding. Shortest would be one date, if you could call it a relationship. I've done a lot of the one (or two, three)-date-didn't-like-him thing.

1- I am 30, FI is 28. (his birthday is the day before mine, which is neat because then he can't really forget) 2- Not really, but I also don't think it covers all facets of a person's personality or life experience. 3- 17ish, I think . Was very weird moment with a good friend that I have been trying to forget for a long time. 4- 6 years, my last relationship before FI. It sucked. I let myself be used for that long. End of story. 5- About 6 days.. I was 19, he was cute and attentive and I needed that. Then after a momentous occaision shared with him, he showed up at the club with another chick. I was pissed at myself, but not too much, because those were the most fun 6 days of my life at that point. Was not too hard to let go.

1) FI and I are both 252) I think after a certain age this is true. This may sound age-ist, (and I'm not just saying it because I make my own "cut-off"), but really, until you're in/close to your mid-20s, you really aren't emotionally/mentally mature enough to make "for life" decisions (i.e. 18 year olds that like to say "Shut UP, I'm an adult" ... they're still stupid kids for the most part)3) I was 16, it was at the Junior Prom ... I know, that sounds like something out of "Happy Days", lol4) 3 years of dating (Which was w/FI)5) Um ... like 3 periods in the 7th grade, lol.

I am 23, FI is 24. Is age just a number? I used to think so. I am now convinced that there really isn't a good reason to get married before the age of 21 (per U.S. culture, I can't comment on other country's cultures). It's just my opinion, and I wouldn't emanate that to a couple under 21 unless they asked for it. Yeah.
