  • 1- No, but FI has a iPhone for maps. I have a pretty good sense of direction. If I see it on a map, I can find it later. 2- A narrow bridge for sure. I am so scared I will sneeze and it will all be over! 3- When I was 15, right before La. changed the law to 16.

  • I have GPS on my iphone.  It's pretty straight forward, but you have to stare at it since it doesn't talk.  It got me to some random courthouse today, so that was cool. Driving on a narrow bridge, hands down.  I grew up around big trucks.  Those guys spend 40 hours a week on the road.  I trust them a lot more than people like me staring at my phone GPS going down the highway 80 mph on the way to traffic court :).I got it the second I could.  Right when I turned 16.
  • Do you have a GPS? If so, do you know how to use it? -Yup. FI got me a GPS for my birthday and I spent the whole day playing with it. Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge? -Driving next to a semi truck. Everyone makes fun of me, but I am petrified of driving next to trucks. When did you get your license? -Right after I turned 17.

  • Leah, me and DH can't even use the iphone in the car for the GPS on it. We ALWAYS get in fights over it. He'll drive and want to know what the next step is, but the iphone screen will not have uploaded and he'll ask to see it, so I'll tell him "there's nothing on the screen." Then we fight because I can't keep up and we nearly get lost everytime. We HAD to buy a car with one built in because otherwise we wouldn't last as a couple...

  • Hehe, that's why my H has his own.  I don't share well either.
  • 1) No ... I probably wouldn't know how to use it if I did, lol2) Truck ... or a bus. I've nearly been run off the road by quite few of them, so they scare the crap outta me.3) 19. My mom knew that my older sister would be a terrible driver (She totally is), and had managed to keep her "off the road" for a while. Because my mom wanted to keep it that way, she refused to let ME get my license so my sister wouldn't "know her limitations". I only wound up getting it because my ex-boyfriend took me to the DMV and helped me enroll in driving school and stuff (The ONE good thing the jerk for me, lol).

  • Oh I have no problem sharing. I have an issue with him thinking that he can read a blank screeen better than me, or that he can read it while driving when I'm sitting right next to him not doing a thing.I should add that we can't even use google directions printed out in the car either. We went on a trip recently with a GPS and it took us a different way that what the papers said, so he kept checking both. When he asked me for the next step, I had no clue where we were so we started fighting about it in front of our friends....embarrassing

  • Regarding the GPS, I will give myself this: I have a very kick @$$ sense of direction. I can't read a map for crap ... and I don't always follow directions well, but I can go someplace for the first time and just be like "I think it's this way" and somehow I wind up where I need to be.

  • 1. Just Google Maps on the Blackberry. And FI also gets stressed because he'll want to know where to go before the map has fully loaded...the slow phone is not my fault!2. Semi. I can control my driving on a bridge, I can't control the truck driver.3. 4 days after my 16th birthday.
  • Stina, I am for real, yo!My wedding will also have CLASS, lol.

  • Do you have a GPS? If so, do you know how to use it? I don't have one, but FI does in his car. I know how to use her (one of my friends named the GPS Cindy). Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge? That's tough, but I think driving next to a semi is worse. When did you get your license? 16
  • Yup, I've got a Garmin and I love it! Driving on a narrow bridge makes me more nervous, especially if it's curvy. I got my license on August 11, 1987.
  • 1. I don't have a GPS, but we have them where I work- I never use them right. But, FI wants one for Christmas, haha.2. Semi, I hate being close to a semi....eeek3. I didn't get mine until I turned 21... =/
  • Do you have a GPS? If so, do you know how to use it?  NO.  I like maps, actually.  That's how my mom taught me.Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge? Semi.  They scare me.  I feel like they are going to tip over on me, which is slightly irrational. When did you get your license?  A few days after my 17th birthday.  Ah - Jersey.
  • Do you have a GPS? If so, do you know how to use it?  Yes.  I LOVE my Magellan.Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge?  Narrow bridge for sure. When did you get your license?  When I was 17, which was a verrrrrrrrrrrry long time ago.  =)
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • I have the GPS on my iPhone. Love it, and use it when driving to unfamiliar destinations. Even used it to walk to some places in NYC. Neither is scary, unless the road is covered in ice or something. I got my license the day after I turned 16. I had to spend my 16th birthday working:)
  • We got a GPS with FI's tax return, and it was the best thing we've ever bought.  (Especially since the closest we've ever come to fighting is when I gave him bad directions.)  We're going to get one for my dad for Christmas, because he gets really badly lost whenever he comes to visit.Driving next to a semi always freaks me out. When I was 20.  I got my permit when I was 15, but my parents were pretty much intolerable when teaching me to drive, so I didn't get a license until it was absolutely necessary.  (All three of my siblings totaled their car in the first year of driving, so this probably wasn't a bad thing.)
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Do you have a GPS? I borrow one sometimes, I know how to use it, except for getting it to find signal again if the signal is lost in a parking garage.Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge? Normally I'd say semi, but the exit I use is under construction.  The lane has been shifted to the shoulder, it's curved, and the pavement is a mess.  It makes me very aware that the exit is an overpass bridge. When did you get your license? at 17
  • Do you have a GPS? If so, do you know how to use it? I have one on my phone and I know how to use it, but I never do. Which is scarier: driving next to a semi truck or driving on a narrow bridge? Definitely a semi truck - I can never tell if they see me or not. When did you get your license? On my 16th birthday.
