Wedding Party

Thought I'd share...

One of my bridesmaids the other day wrote on her facebook that she was attending a black party (and by black I assume she meant attire...) and she was wearing her bridesmaid dress. She looked awesome in it. So yeah, someone got to wear her dress again, and i know another one of my girls wants to wear hers again too. PS- I NEVER uttered the words "since it's black, you can always wear it again" because I know that that's a load of shiit.

  • I know two of mine will probably wear theirs again. My sister is still in high school, and my mom has already said it will be her prom dress next year. My MOH is my sorority sister and plans on wearing it for formals--there are two a year. PS--I DID say something about them wearing it again, with prom and formals in mind, but I didn't realize how stupid I sounded until after. Oops.

  • I am letting my girls each choose a different full length dress in the same color. My MOH keeps telling ME that she is trying to find one that she can wear again...at first I thought she was joking, but she is serious, so that is pretty awesome.

  • Two of my bm were able to wear their dresses for Christmas parties before the wedding (I know some people freak out about this, but they are adults and can wear a piece of clothing without ruining it). A third bm was very excited about the dress and is planning on wearing it to her upcoming cocktail party her work is hosting! I'm not sure about the other 3, but they do make great formal Christmas dresses, so who knows.

Repeat this to your self: My Wedding Party is made of my family and friends and I should treat them as such.
  • After the wedding my Mom is altering all of them to my BM's liking into more wearable cocktail dresses (they are long simple A-line dresses now). The girls asked if my Mom would, and she was thrilled that they wanted to make them their own style so they could wear them again. I think it's great if they can make them work for more than one event, but I never told them they had to (I have such crafty girls in my WP). I can't wait to see what they make them into after the wedding!
  • My youngest sister wanted to wear hers for her graduation, but didn't realize that she needed to get it altered...lolI also hate that saying, "if you shorten it, you can wear it again."

  • Stina- I agree. I was surprised they wanted to shorten them and give it a try. I know I have a "shortened" BM dress and it still lingers in the back of my closet. *Sigh* I think BM dresses just aren't designed to be super versitle, but hey, I am all for their ambition!
