Crazy MOG

This is from Prudie's chat on the Washington Post yesterday. Read the second letter and Prudie's answer. http://www.slate.com/id/2235064/

"I think bablingbrooke is the 13 yr old marring her cousin at the town hall. Lets all give her a big hand. And hope her inbred children can live normal lives." -tabs.

A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.

The kids are probably real gems too, and I bet it's why they weren't invited. I mean with a family like this, how could they not be terrors?

I think enjoyed the 3rd letter just as much: "Each week I am forced to revise my original opinion that Facebook is a great innovation for keeping people in touch, to believing that it is merely a canvas for members to act out strange, unresolved conflicts and desires." That statemenet also applies to the wedding related letter...

PS. This letter is on page 2 of the post.. coincindence? To "Anywhere USA": I have a friend who got married, and no one from the groom's family came to the wedding. The mother had somehow gotten everyone to boycott the wedding. This couple has been married for over 25 years and have 6 wonderful children. The groom's side of the family missed a lot of happiness because of the mother's boycott. In the last couple of years they have tried to get back together, but this mother caused a lot of pain to a whole lot of people over a little thing. Just like the mother in the letter. And I want to ask her, how many 6- and 9-year-old kids really want to go to a boring wedding anyway? What a mess she has created. She has caused so much pain over this stupid thing. Hope she can fix it, but I think it is going to be a long process. Emily Yoffe: I agree, there is a long road of reconciliation ahead. She has to re-earn the trust of the son whose wedding she missed. She can start by concluding she is at fault and take the blame.

During the live chats readers will often offer commentary on previous posts. Prudie usually posts several responses to one of the first posts on there. I think she picked a good one.

Awesome response. I love how it essentially boils down to "Ma'am, no matter how you spin it: you're wrong ... and immature".

I love Prudie.  She's like Ann Landers with balls.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

I do love that she responds with a slight amount of snark. That advice was also spot-on IMO.

Most boys that age are upset that they have to attend the wedding in the first place!

Prudie's response was classic.  I loved the first line.

I swear, my 9 year old brother is dreading my wedding. He doesn't even know what exactly a tuxedo is, but he's already told me on several occasions that he hates them and doesn't want to wear one. Which too bad. My mom said he has to.
