DIY Cake Topper?

Hi everyone,I've been searching and searching for a pearl cake topper and can't find one that I really like.  So I've decided that maybe I could make one.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm just looking to do a single letter and have it covered in pearls (or something that color) front and back.  Any advice you have would be most appreciated!

i purchased a wooden cake topper from crafty eddy. his email is craftyeddy@gmail.com. I spray painted it gold and then covered it in swarovski crystals. it turned out awesome!! i can't wait to use it next year in my wedding. i can send you pics if you would like. i still haven't figured out how to do one of those planning pages like everyone else has :)

I did these for Christmas ornaments and gifts last year, but I think if you use a thicker wire with pearls, you could make it work as a cake topper. It wasn't really hard, either. :)http://tinyurl.com/diytopper
