XP: Cheap-ish BM dresses

Hi ladies! I wanted each of my bridesmaids to feel comfortable in the dress that they would wear for my wedding, so I envisioned each of them wearing their own version of a black cocktail dress. My mom brought up the point of different fabrics looking different in lighitng, so I started to get worried of how it would look.
While watching some type of wedding show on WE TV, I saw these Two Bird bridesmaid dresses that were convertible, and I fell in love with the idea! I found a very similar style on Victoria's Secret, and all my bridesmaids are in love! They are $95, which fit into my bridesmaids' budget (actually below what they all expected to spend) so I thought I'd pass along the recommendation to all of you! Good luck planning ladies! :)

  • Different fabrics will look different, but it's nothing to get all bothered about. Your girls will LOVE the idea. I promise.

  • I look terrible in that kind of style.  Make sure that your BMs all try the dress on first.  I'd much prefer being able to pick out my own black dress, especially because most women already own an LBD.

  • I was all gung-ho for the convertible dress, but then my matron of honor ordered one from VS, and she found it to be amazingly unforgiving on the figure, and she really didn't like the fabric.  I think the Two Birds dress is a nice chiffon.  The VS dress is a matte synthetic with an unfinished hem.  It wasn't quite dressy enough for my event, don't know about yours...
