My best friend of almost 10 years and I agreed when we were 14 years old that we would be each other's maids of honor. However, since then she has moved 17 hours away for college and does not come home often. I am worried that she will not want to spend the time or money (dress,flying home, etc) to help me plan or do a good job planning showers and the bachelorette party from so far away. Is it ok to ask her just to be a bridesmaid? Is it acceptable to have 2 maids of honor (a very good friend from college lives a little closer)? How do I approach this situation without hurting her feelings?
