Flowergirl - special ideas for asking her to join

Good morning ladies.

I am looking for fun/special/cool ideas on how to ask my 8 yr old neice to be our flowergirl.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • Honestly, ask her parents first if she CAN do it. If she can, then you can ask her however you want. I just called mine up, but you could always send her a fg book.

  • I just called and asked my 11 year old niece...because they are younger, I don't really think it's necessary to have a formal invitation....
A creative idea could be to make her a bouquet of silk/fake flowers with a note inside it! That way she could keep it as a decoration in her room, and she'd probably be surprised finding a note buried inside:)
  • Definitely clear it with her parents first.  It would crush her to get her hopes up about it and then find out that her parents don't want her to for whatever reason.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I of course asked my FG's mom if it is ok that she be the FG, but my Aunt already knew I would ask. I just bought a cute white T-top and decorated it myself and wrote flower girl on it and then when she came for the weekend(she lives outta town) I told her I had a present for her and I gave her the shirt and she was so happy and excited, she loved it and then she told me what her ideal FG dress would look like, lol.
