My FI and I have decided that we would like to buy the bridesmaids' dresses for them. Our wedding is more or less a destination wedding for both of them since we live fairly far away, plus both of them are graduate students, so we thought we would offer to pay.
A couple of questions:
1) How do I offer to pay? We initially discussed a price range they were comfortable with, but we haven't talked about it since.
2) Do I still need to get them the same sort of gift I would have gotten them if we weren't paying for their dresses? (I'm still planning on getting them something, I just don't know if I am obligated to spend as much as I would if I weren't getting their dresses)
3) I have to ask, did I handle suggesting a dress ok? Since we won't be in the same place at all before the wedding, I suggested a couple options (a dress I liked, or going to David's and picking out whatever they liked in a certain color), and they both seemed fine with the dress I picked. Is that ok? I didn't really know how to start looking for dresses any other way.
