Wake up this morning. Still bloody raining. DH gets a call, he has to cover a route today. Someone got a doctor's note saying that he could miss a week of work because he "wasn't feeling well." Also, out of lunch stuff, so I'll have to buy.
Train. Some douchebag is listening to his hiphop on headphones loud enough that I can hear it halfway across the car. Left mine at home. In no kind of headspace for writing, which I really wanted to do.
Get to work. Stressing on how I'm going to work everything out, because Mom is in town (with very little notice) today and the apartment is a disaster. Have permission to leave work once my cases are done. Can't get hold of users. Shuttles run once an hour and trains less frequently, timing is crucial.
Finally get up to my first case, need to install our software distribution client so I can install CS5. Takes 20 minutes to reboot computer. 11:00 shuttle leaves without me. Mom is just leaving San Diego. Finally get client installed, only to discover that he only has 32-bit Windows, needs 64-bit to install CS5. Peachy. Will deal with it after break.
Next case doesn't want to see me until Wednesday. Huzzah! Grab my stuff and schlep up to my last case. Making good time.
Last case is a noisy printer. Call my boss and try to describe the part that's having issues. Send him a picture from my phone, which takes forever to upload. Wait on the phone while he looks stuff up. Finally decides what part it is and orders a new one. Check my phone. 12:00 straight up. I'm right next to the second shuttle stop, should be able to grab it.
Run outside, wait in rain. 12:20. No shuttle. Call the transit office; it was on time, the clock on my phone is slow. Go catch city bus toward train station, which requires a subway transfer. Consult train schedules, then call Mom. Just missed my chance at the 12:45 train, next one isn't until 2:00, which means not getting home until 3:00. And using vacation hours the whole time.
Stand outside subway station, call DH. He doesn't know how much longer he's going to be. Some debate, decide fucck it, going back to work. Subway to train station, arrive just in time for shuttle back to campus. In meantime, call customer service to find out why DH's Christmas gift hasn't arrived even though it was ordered two weeks ago. 20 minutes on hold, worst music ever. Finally get someone, find out that the cameras are on backorder and won't arrive until after Christmas. No estimated date, just after Christmas. Knew I should have ordered from Amazon.
At work, killing some time on a side project. DH texts to say that his truck died on him. 45-60 minutes until the tow truck can get there. Still pouring rain. Mom is also stuck in traffic. Since DH took me to work today, I currently have no idea how I'm getting home.
Seriously, short of finding out that someone in my family has just died, I don't see how this day can get any worse. I just want to crawl back into bed. Maybe with a good stiff drink in hand. Still haven't eaten lunch yet, I'm too stressed out.
CN: I want to stab everything.
This is a neglected planning bio. This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.
Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
