Dyeable shoes

Anyone doing this for their wedding or have done this before?  I have no idea how I would go about doing this, or if it's even possible.  I have OOT BMs and also BMs on really tight budgets.

Is the dying process itself expensive?

there is a whole wall of dyeable shoes at the DSW by my house...I have never done it though, so I am not sure how it works!! I don't recall the shoes being particularly expensive when I peeked at them a few weeks ago, though.
  • I didn't even think to check local stores.... thanks, girls!

  • I am actually having my shoes dyed Blue.

I went to random local shoe store and I bought the shoes there so the dyeing is free.  Payless and DSW both offer dyeable shoes but I am not sure if it comes free with the purchase or not.

I also was in the mall the other day and noticed the cobbler in the mall will dye the shoes.
  • My bridesmaids have dyeable shoes from David's Bridal, I think it was an extra $5 to dye them fuchsia. SCOTCH GUARD!!! when you are done or the color will dye your feet.

  • I originally ordered shoes from zappos that were dyeable and to send them out to get dyed, it was $17.  They included a flyer with the shoe purchase.

  • Ditto on both scotch guard and shrinking, I've been in two weddings w/ dyables and they were terribly uncomfortable and turned my feet colors.

  • I'm having my shoes dyed, but I have no idea how exactly it will be done. I just picked out the shoes I liked and said I wanted them in red.

  • I have had shoes dyed at payless before and at some other shoe store but it was a long time ago.  I don't remember it being expensive at all but the shoes will dye your feet if you don't scotch guard.
