WPBP of the day

What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item?

Have you ever purchased one of those items?

If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb?

  • What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item? I remember watching the smart mop commercial when I was 10, writing down the info because it was a limited time offer, and then telling my mom that she had to buy it because it was better than our mop.
Have you ever purchased one of those items? I bought the red egg, but it's really gross. It's a cheese grater for your feet. I thought that it was going to be electric, but it's not.
If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb?I am actually thinking of doing this with my entire family so that is why I am asking you all....I know, I am using the poll for my own personal gain today!

  • What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item?  Snuggie!
Have you ever purchased one of those items?  I've bought the first Pure Moods CD and the Juice Man.

A word of warning from your friends at Cracked.com: Remember that text is going to be how you make your first impression over the internet; if every third word you type is misspelled, people will automatically assume that you're a moron.
  • What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item? Slap-chop, for sure. have you seen the remix?

Have you ever purchased one of those items? I am ashamed to say that I did buy one of those electro-stimulation ab thingies. It did little more than tickle me, but I wish i still had it because they use the same type of thing on my calves at physical therapy and I could be saving lost of money.

If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb? I would bet thrilled to get a slap-chop, or even a snuggie.. in fact, I really want both.

What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item?

It's not billed as an "As Seen on TV," but Bare Minerals.  I first saw it on an infomercial.  Oh, and I have a Shoes-Under, which is actually a pretty damn good idea since we have so little closet space here.

Have you ever purchased one of those items?

    Yup, see response above.

If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb?

Depends what it was.  If it was something I could/would actually use, then no, I wouldn't sneer at it just because it was "As Seen on TV."
  • FYI, I get the Brookstone catalogue... and Brookstone has made their own version of the Snuggie!  Snuggies are taking over the world!
  • What is your favorite 'As Seen on TV' item?
I think my favorite commercial is the guy with the headset on yelling about how great the slap chop is. He also says "You're going to love my nuts". (I don't sleep much, I see alot of informercials)

I recently made a snuggie purchase. The luxury snuggie is great.

If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb? Nooo. I think it's fun. I like to throw in something different. Last year I did spud guns. The year before that I did flying monkeys.

    Snuggie!

You know it!  I need to put my sig pic back.  I think I've bought other things too, but nothing is coming up right now.

If you received one for Xmas along with a book or DVD, would you think it was dumb?
It depends on which thing.  If someone bought me a shamwow, I would laugh.  But if you got me another snuggie, I'd be excited to have two colors.
  • I can't really answer this poll, because I haven't seen any of those types of commercials in a long time.  I usually only watch what I've recorded on my DVR, so I can skip past the commercials.  Sad times.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • My sister LOVED the shamwow commercial. Everytime it came on the tv, she'd make us watch it. So to thank her for my bridal shower, I bought her one. She uses them ALL the time.

Now for this Xmas, her bf is an Ohio State guy....so we're getting him an OSU snuggie....and I was thinking of getting her one too as a gag, and since they have a corgi, I'd get them the dog snuggie. I know it's dumb, but I find it hilarious that you'd have a snuggie for your dog. And then they would be a snuggie family....

  • 1) If I have nothing to do on a Saturday morning, I will channel surf the "Paid Programming" channels. I rarely buy, but I just get a kick out of watching them. I actually watch the CNN documentary on "As Seen On TV" last night, that's how lame I am.

    2) I've purchase Sham Wow (Which works) and Smooth Away (Which does not)

    3) Depends on the item and if I actually have a use for it. Snuggies and Magic Bullets: ok. Aqua Globes and Chic Shapers: not so much.

  • Stina-
You should check out the "Dreamie" for your sister just for kicks. It's a "comfy cocoon".

I'm a fan of the snuggie family idea.

  • Oh Meg, my grandma bought the aqua globes from bed bath and beyond and she said that they don't last the full two weeks like it said in the advertisement. Boo!
