Too many Bridesmaids not enough Groomsmen

I Have 8 potential bridesmaids. :/ I have 6 close friends and then my sister and sister in law that I would like to include as brides maids BUT I feel like 8 is too many. My fiance only has 5 grroms men and I dont want him to just pick people as fillers. I want everyone in the wedding party to be close friends and family. Are there other roles I could assign 3 of my bridesmaids so they are still included? I have not asked anyone yet. Please help! Any suggestions are welcome! :)

    I have 6 bridesmaids and 2 friends doing readings.

    It is also fine to havee 5 and 8 - sides do not need to be even.

    Just tell them, "It's more important to me that the sides be even, so I'm not asking you to be bridesmaids because then the numbers would be off. I can offer you a consolation prize role if you want." I think that will solve your problem of having too many friends.

    You must have even sides because if you don't your marriage won't be legal and all the puppies in the world will die.

    Five GMs... With eight BMs??? dies Seriously, it's your wedding, your wedding party... The whole point is that your wedding party is made up of the people you love, not your sisters husbands cousins nan twice removed to save a family argument.
    So, maybe things don't always go as planned... Maybe that's okay. I may be alone for now, but my baby boy is on his way, and I wouldn't change a thing.

    I have 4 BM and 7 GM! It is uneven but our wedding wouldn't be complete without any of them up there with us. I don't think it matters a bit.

    My OCD makes me want even sides, but when my brother got married last year, his wife HAD to have 8 bridesmaids, so my very shy brother had to scrounge to find 8, and one guy who he works with JUST DIDN'T SHOW UP. Everything went fine, but for the love don't make your FI scrounge.
    Or just make your bridal party smaller and be done with it. I've been in 2 weddings, one with 4 BM and one with 8, and the one with 4 was so much more fun, personal, and special. 8 was a logistical nightmare.

    Right now we've officially asked 6 BM and 6 GM and they've all said yes. However, my Fi brother (who doesn't care for me over something rediculously blown out of proportion over a yr ago) who is supposed to be the BM is now saying he can't afford his tux, etc. I haven't heard from FI what is going on with that situation yet but as the wedding is exactly a month away we will NOT ask anyone else. If BM chooses to back out we will have 6 & 5.

    Your wedding isn't until April 2014 - please don't ask anyone for at least a year.  A lot can change between now and then and this could be a non-issue.

    You could have a couple of the bridesmaids walk down together if you are worried about the procession. I am having my sister and her daughter walk together and they make up my matron I honor and maid of honor.

    My sister whom recently married a month ago had 8 BM and 5 GM.  She assigned two BM to one GM and it was perfect.  Actually, ppl laughed and applauded the one GM with two BM because I guess it made them look pimpin.. you know what I mean...

    Honestly, it's really up to you.  If you must have even sides, then you gotta do what you gotta do.. if not, then it's fine as well.

    I have a similar situation, and despite wanting even sides, I'd rather not cut out anyone I want as a BM just for an equal amount in my party. Include the friends/family you want, it will be more memorable that way.
