Wedding Party

2 matrons of honor?

I have a huge dilema. I have two sisters. I was the maid of honor in each of their weddings. I could not choose between the two of them for my wedding so I asked both of them to be matron of honor in my wedding. I am the middle sister so I am extremely close to both of them in different ways. I have two additional bridesmaids. My mom and other family keep saying I can't have two moh and I should have my childhood friend be the moh (she is a bridesmaid). I do see how this would probably been the best route to go, but it seems too late to change things and I feel torn over it all. I have been engaged for a year and the wedding is two months away. I am freaking out b/c I have to start the programs. What should I do? Just leave it, or tell them I am changing it around?

  • Don't change it. It's totally fine to have two MOHs. Changing it would probably really hurt their feelings. Tell your mom to calm down.

If it were me I would say, "Mom, are you seriously saying that I should dump my two sisters - your daughters - as my Maids of Honor? Why on earth would I ever do such a mean thing to them?"

I do see how this would probably been the best route to go

    Why?

  • Definitely keep them! It is what you want so why not?? I am having two myself because I have two of the greatest best friends, and my FI is having two BM because he has two brothers. Go you!

  • Keep them! it's totally fine to have two. My daughter is having my other daughter and the groom's sister as maids of honor. They are both delighted and so is the bride!

  • My friend recently got married in March and she has a total of 8 bridesmaid, two were matrons of honor and I was the MOH, so yes you can have two matrons.
