Nationwide BMs

Hey everyone,
I need some help. I have five bridesmaids for my October 2010 wedding, but we are all scattered through four cities- Miami, DC, New York and Boston. Any ideas of nationwide bridesmaid dress places that are convienent to multiple cities? I'm looking for one step up from David's Bridal but nothing over-the-top expensive. Thanks!

Re: Nationwide BMs

  • Try Alfred Angelo.  They have stores in a lot of places, but if not their dresses are also carried by a lot of bridal shops.
  • Alfred Angelo, JCrew sale dresses, Ann Taylor, and if you don't like any of those, check the designer you like and where it's sold. Chances are, retailers carry some if not all of a particular line in various boutiques! I had 4 girls all over the place too and we just found a designer that I liked and then everyone found their own neighborhood bridal shop that carried the line.

  • Alfred Angelo, J Crew, or you could pick a designer that can be found at department stores.

  • Stina has some GREAT advice.
  • I had a great experience with AnnTaylor.com. Sign up for their e-mail list, they often do sales ... my BMs got theirs for $129 (40% off the regular price).

  • my girls were spread out (california, colorado, wyoming, and florida) and the dress they wore was from bari jay. most dress designers have locations all over.
  • If you don't necessarily want them in matching dresses, you could just give them a color or a paint swatch and let them choose their own.  I told my girls to just pick any black dress with some sort of silver accent, and it's been great.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
