Sadness...

Back story: Girl and I have been friends since 2008. A couple years ago, we parted ways and I moved to the city (an hour away). I began a long-term relationship, and so did she. The difference was, she went AWOL it seemed. It's been almost a year since they started dating, now they're engaged. I have never met her fiance. I've tried a few times to get together and she's blown me off so I thought she was just busy.

So, this October she got engaged. Of course I was excited! I texted her congratulations...she texted back (miracle!) this and I quote: "Thanks girl I'm so excited!! And I was gonna wait to ask you but I can't wait anymore will you be a bridesmaid??" to which I responded absolutely, I told her we should get together, we made plans for that Thursday to have dinner so I could congratulate her. She ditched me. She never got back with me about a time, and two days later she texted me that she had some kind of car issue...

And that was the last time I heard from her. Well I noticed on Facebook that her mother (who I'm fb friends with) posted that Girl "said yes to the dress!! And so did the bridesmaids!!"

Am I allowed to just have had a total WTF moment? I just needed to vent a minute

You have every right to be hurt. You have two choices at this point, send her an email and let her know you saw her mom's comment and what is going on? Or you can relax and wait it out to see if she contacts you and goes, I picked out bridesmaid dresses and you need to order this dress by this date and here are more detials & if she doesn't like a pp said, at least you won't have to spend the money or go through the stress that can come with being a bridesmaid.

If you get invited to wedding, go party it up and have a great time.

Aw I totally see where your WTF moment is coming from. I can also sense your dissappointment. If seems like you want to be her friend more than she cares to be yours which is sad.

As hard as it is, I'd leave it. Write her off and move on.

I had a friend like that. It didn't come to being asked to be a BM and then not hearing from her again. But she did cancel every plan we made together. To the point, I don't even talk to her any more. Its too bad relationships end the way they do sometimes, but its usualy for the best.
