Wedding Party

Different color dress, same shoe?

My wedding is in May and it will be outside. My bridesmaids are each wearing a different color, should they wear the same color shoe as their dresses, or white or nude?

Re: Different color dress, same shoe?

  • No one but you is going to care about your BM shoes.  I'd say let them wear whatever color they want.

They're just shoes. If you want them to look somewhat uniform, maybe request they all wear black or some other color they'll actually wear again.

  • I've heard a lot about the different-color-dress idea lately (and participated in a wedding like that). My biggest advice is stick to a fabric family for the dresses. If you have one girl in satin, another in cotton, another in chiffon...

There needs to be SOMETHING unifying, and I don't think it's the shoe.

  • Nude - goes with everything and is classic.
  • My BMs are wearing different shades of blue chiffon, and silver shoes of their choosing. I'd pick a neutral and ask their input; silver is NMS personally, but all the BMs had it as their top choice neutral. I would have chosen nude, but they didn't care for that idea and I want them to have shoes they like and can use again.

<div>This is perfect. My bridesmaids wore different shades of blue and I asked them to wear black shoes. Most of them picked ones they already owned.</div>

Exactly this.  If you really want them to be similar, give them a color and let them roll with it because otherwise you should be paying for the specific shoe you want.  My BMs agreed on nude heels with their dresses.  One had a pair already, one wanted a pair, and the other one had her baby right before the wedding and couldn't come!

  • Any neutral color is fine.  Black is always a good go-to because almost every woman owns a pair of black heels, and if she doesn't, there are almost limitless options in every price range to get a pair.  Nude is fine as well, but a little harder to find.

They are all wearing the same dress in cotton.
  • Nude shoes all the way!

  • Alright thanks everyone! I appreciate it.
  • It is better for the white shoes.

I know one good site: JenJenHouse.com. I recently bought one dress and one shoes from them. It arrived on time as promised and seriously is amazing! I paid 100.00 for this dress and it looks like I paid 500 for it! So pleased with this purchase! The shoes are also gorgeous.
Also, recently they have an activity on their FB. You could go and have a look. You could also see the reviews on their website first and then decide.
