How big is yours?

4 BM and 4 GM No kids. To much of a hassle, and this way no one is left out and no one feels bad if we don't ask their kids to be in the wedding.  We are also have approx. 160 people at the wedding.

I searched Emily Post and only came up with entries about holding a party at your house. Please tell me what a House Party is in the context of your BP? I am interested, as I have never heard of this before.

I love the idea of a big wedding party! I agree, a lot of people feel that a big wedding party is not a good idea, but I have no idea why.  I'm having 7 GM, 7 BM, 2 JrBM, 1 RB and 2 FG.  Everyone in my wedding party is important to me or my Fiancee and each adds something special.

I think that the more the merrier!!!

but this sounds like the bride is going to be stressed out of her mind and the MOH has all kinds of duties and that these house party members are just unpaid help and its not an honor at all. I really dislike how they say that they are basically 2nd class bridesmaids, who didn't make the cut but you still need their services.

FWIW, I have friends who have volunteered to help with this kind of stuff and don't WANT to be in the WP (we are too old for ugly dresses we will never wear again and made a pact about it), but I don't think I would ever ask them to, pretending its an honor instead of a job.

However, we all have regional differences, so maybe that happend in your neck of the woods. The more the merrier, I guess.

we have a HUGE wedding party because my fiance had to have 10 and I am too OCD to have it uneven (I could have easily done 8 but would have wanted to try to get to 6 or 7 if I had a choice)

We have 2 MOH, 8 BM, 2 Best Men, 8 GM but no kids. We are having 200 people at our wedding.

we have 9 bm, 9 gm, 1 fg, and 1 rb. not sure on the amount of ushers and all that yet.
we are expecting between 250 and 300 guests. (i have a huge family)
