Personalized Tote Bags

Does anyone know of a good place to get a personalized tote bag?  I would like big-sized tote bags with their names (not initials) on it.  Anyone have any experience with a website?

I got mine from The Knot when they were having a sale.  They arrived quickly and in good condition, and my girls use the bags all the time!

If you do go through The Knot try and wait until they have a sale (they have them pretty frequently).  In my opinion the totes are a bit pricey for what they are, but on sale you can save a decent chunk of cash.

If I remember correctly, they offer 2 different sizes.  The ones I got were the larger of the two and when unfolded were about 16" wide.  I'd say they were average sized - not huge but not tiny either.

Okay, I have to ask.  What's with the popularity of personalized tote bags for bridesmaids?  Why is this such a popular thing?  What is it about being a bridesmaid that screams "Buy me a bag with my name on it!"?

I am having a destination wedding in Vegas.  I thought it would be nice to give them their gifts in a tote bag the night of the rehearsal dinner so that they can use the day of to put clothes, make-up, etc. whatever they want. 

When I was in a wedding, the bride gave us a tote bag and I liked that because I put my clothes (after I put on the bridesmaid dress) and make-up in it.  We brought them to the chruch and relocated them to the car once we got to the reception.  I liked it better than bringing my duffle bag.

just a thought but do you know if your girls would like having their names on the bag??  i personally wouldn't mind a bag with my initials but my actual name on the bag would bother me and i wouldn't ever use it again.  otherwise i think the bags are a good idea.

I would like a good-quality, big, canvas tote bag, like the ones from LL Bean or Lands End.

Or one that has a cute design. JCrew.com has some that are pretty reasonably priced, and Forever 21 has super-cheap totes in a variety of designs.

I got tote for my BMs ... one was from Marshall's (Gwen Stefani bag on clearance), and the other was from Etsy.com. I knwo that H&M used to carry handbag-style totes at one point, not sure if they still do. Here's a nice Eddie Bauer tote. Also try Target, Old Navy and Kohl's.

I wouldn't carry a bag with my name embroidered on it. And a lot of those wedding/bridesmaid totes tend to look really cheap.

You know, I really can't remember when I first heard about totes for bridesmaids, but when I chose my bridal party I knew right off that I wanted totes to be part of their gifts.  They all have jobs where they often need to schlepp stuff back and forth to work (a pre-school teacher, 2 nurses, and a chef) so I figured the totes would get used.

I got each girl a tote in her favorite color with a matching monogram.  Then I filled the totes with several individual gifts more tailored for each girl's personality.  So really, the totes just ended up being reuseable gift bags.  I would have needed something to package all their gifts together anyway, and I saw the totes as an upgrade from a paper gift bag.

I can't tell you how the idea got so popular, but those are my reasons for buying them.  And I'm happy to say that my girls use their bags all the time!

I liked using tote bags because I hate wasting wrapping paper or paper gift bags. The bridesmaid seemed to love her bag, whereas I think the MOH didn't really care for it.

Why don't you try these big ass bags? I ordered them and had to return them because I didn't look at picture with the model to see just how big it was. So...are you sure you want BIG, because these are definitely huge...They used to have a damask style, but I think this is the only pattern available now on their website. I didn't monogram them because I don't think my girls would like it.

I thought about initials but my MOH is getting married 6 months after me.  If I went with her initials at the time of my wedding, she could only use it for 6 months.  She doesn't know what she is going to do about her middle name.  I think the girls would like a bag with thier names on it and it would only be first names (which I think would be safe to carry). I didn't want to do anything with Las Vegas and our wedding date or BM/MOH because they wouldn't use it again.

Mstar- I can't pull up the picture on the computer I am on.  I like the idea of beach bag tote size though.  I'll check it out when I am at my personal computer.

I have been brainstorming over the last couple days and I think I am going to go with Longchamp bags   They have a zipper on the top so they are good for travel and they come in so many colors.

No initials and no first names on them.
