Shoes to go with cornflower blue bridesmaid dresses

Hi Ladies, my bridesmaids are wearing cornflower blue knee length dresses and i'm having a hard time deciding on shoe color. My colors are blue and yellow... I had some friends suggest yellow shoes but i'm not sure how that would look... any suggestions would help!

  • Yellow shoes would be cute.  I would suggest they buy a shoe in a color like silver or gold or yellow and leave the specific shoe up to them--like "a strappy sandal in silver" or something like that.  I had coral dresses and the BMs wore silver; it's a color that goes pretty well with just about every color and probably is something the BMs already own.

  • Yellow sounds nice but might be hard to find.  I agree with silver and gold, they're pretty neutral.
  • Silver strappy sandals, let them pick the style.

  • Just to be a bit more blunt about what PPs are saying: please don't require specific shoes. Dresses are one thing, but people have such different issues with shoes, from ankle/knee/back problems to different foot width to comfort issues with different heel heights. Personally I have yellow shoes, but it's not a color that most people will wear again, so it would be great if you could ask them to wear shoes of their own choosing in a more versatile color like gold and silver. I think a pop of yellow would look really cute, but you can get the same effect with flowers or a sash.

Or if you really want yellow shoes, make sure the cost of a reasonable pair is within the budget your girls originally set for the dress, so that the total cost to them isn't beyond what you'd discussed.
  • I am also having knee length cornflower dresses and am asking the girls to wear whatever style silver shoes.
  • The yellow would look cute, but you should find out if new yellow shoes are in their budget, and if you decide you want them to wear a specific pair of shoes, you should pay.

I think gold might be better, it would be a similar look but much easier for the girls to find on their own.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
