Lacking Creativity- Need Help! how they turned out

So this is National Art Month apparently, and at my school I am supposed to make some flowers.  I was given 2 skewers and a paper that tells me I need to make 2 flowers.  I tried doing ribbon roses, but I forgot how and that just frustrated me.  I am looking for materials here in my classroom, but I am lacking creativity. 

Anyone have any ideas of what (besides paper or cardboard) to use to make flowers?

Tissue paper, foam, playing cards, paper bags, photographs, greeting cards, toilet paper :P

I teach shop, and will be out in the shop next period, so maybe I will weld together a nut and some washers

Takes a little practice, but they're super easy.  If you don't have the flower punch and don't want to buy one, you can just draw and cut out the shapes instead.
