Wedding Party

I hate when...

I forget my shopping list and my house is 15 minutes opposite the direction of the grocery store.  Guess I'll have to wing it and hope for the best.

Anyone else have any vents for the day?

And that's why I'm procrastinating by knotting instead.

I used to teach in CA, and all my old colleagues are on Spring Break right now.  I keep getting FB posts from people saying "Enjoy your Spring Break" and status messages about the much needed break, and we don't have one.  We are off this coming Friday and Monday, but not a whole week.

  • I really wouldn't mind people taking time off this week if they would have gotten what they needed to do finished. Our office is closed tomorrow through Tuesday, so what would be a "Eh, never mind, it can wait a day" has turned into a, "Oh no! It can't wait until Tuesday!"

Specifically, I had to hunt people down to have their feet washed tomorrow. Joy of joys.

And I promise, where I work not as weird as it sounds.

  • Eek, that is a lot of dishes.  I have to do some when I get home tonight too.  Parents will be here tomorrow afternoon.

I think I will just have to drive home and get the list.  Today is the first day I have worn these sandals and every year on the first day they give me blisters.  I don't think I can bear the grocery store with them on.  Besides, I stepped on a rock and it went through the bottom, so now it sounds like a rattle.  I love these sandals too!

    Oh no!

I hate that my fiance is away for the week and I miss him as much as I do.  We did long distance for years but after living together for two years, apparently I've grown more attached to him being home with me than I realized.
  • oh no Allie!  Where is your wedding going to be?  Maybe someone here can help

  • I hate it when jobs don't call you back to tell you no after an interview.  I mean, I got an email titled "Reject" last week, but at least I knew I didn't get the job.  I really don't think I got the one I'm waiting on, but it would be nice if they'd just let me know.
  • I think I'm okay, well somewhat.  I haven't slept but my wonderful mom got on her phone and found a new place.  I have to go down to Kiawah, SC this weekend to look at the new place.  This means- new food, new centerpieces, flowers, etc.  I'm getting married in June but it's still annoying and I'm stressing out.  Cross your fingers the new place is just as beautiful.  Ohh to top it all off the invitations were already sent and people have been replying back.  I'm trying to be positive but just when you think you are on your last stretch of things to do, it starts all over again!  I wish I could do a pre-honeymoon right about now! :)

  • Oh yes, I have a vent!

I wasn't even going to do stupid favors to begin with but then Yankee Candle had this great sale on votives where every scent was $1 instead of the usual $1.99 so I ordered up 125 in my favorite scent, thinking that I'll happily use any that don't get taken so no waste, really. We use candles all the time - I love them.
So then I got organza bags for them. And stupid Thank You favor tags that don't easily slip over the little organza bag tie strings b/c the ends of the tie strings are knotted which makes them just thismuch bigger than thank you tag opening. This now necessitates me unknotting every damn favor bag tie to slip on the Thank You tag and then retying said strings.

I may very well go insane tonight doing this but I'm not asking for help from my brideslaves (er, bridesmaids) b/c if I don't want to do this I'm sure as hell not expecting anyone else to get excited over it. And no, I couldn't find other tags with bigger holes and I'm not about to be out the money I spent on them so I'm going to suck it up, pour some wine, and camp out in the livingroom tonight doing this.

The scream you hear later will be mine.  Vent over.

  • Is your ceremony in the same location, Allie?  One of my good friends had to change reception venues at the last minute, because she didn't have a rain plan and it was expected to POUR the day of the wedding.  She spread the news of the change via Facebook and provided printouts with a map and directions from the ceremony to the reception at the ceremony site.  It was very stressful to get everything arranged and rebooked, but it worked out great day-of.  So the fact that your invitations have already gone out shouldn't be a cause for worry.

  • CT: You could always bribe them with booze.  I'm usually willing to help a bride with even the most tedious of tasks if she provides pizza and booze, or equivalent.  I'm probably going to be resorting to bribery to get some help getting my flowers finished.  (A few of the girls have offered, but I'd feel bad without providing some sort of compensation for their help.)

  • I hate that I have my period today.

Well, ok, I don't hate the fact that this means I'm not pregnant (In fact, I quite like that fact) ... but I hate being all crampy and cranky and bloated.

  • At work today everyone was supposed to bring food and stuff in. Well I was supposed to bring in cups and plasticware. I picked some up last night while I was at the grocery store and set them by my purse for the morning. Well I get almost to work (about 45 min from home) when I realize I forgot them. So I had to go to the convenience store to get whatever they had. Now I have plastic cups and plasticware that I will most likely not use. Ugh!

  • I have another one!  I hate when I clean up and then can't bloody find anything.  I'm waiting for the laundry to get finished, and I wanted to start putting stems on the flowers, but nooooo, I can't find the damn scissors.  So it's back to the Knot for me.

Aerin - I can easily be bribed with booze (and pizza or some combination of the 2) as well - and so can all but 1 of my BMs (the preggo one - although she'd love the pizza) but I figure I still have a month and 3 weeks to go. A few evenings at home and I can knock this out w/o dragging friends into it. Now, if I was a week away? That would be an entirely different story! Last night I finished a whole 34....woohoo!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />  And I must say, the little favor tags make them look quite nice so the drudgery is kind of worth it.
