Input on BM gifts

So I need input on my BMs gifts. So I know everyone says shop like its their birthday but honestly the best I could come up with ended up being the same thing for each girl. They all like to be pampered and relax. Mind you half of them are nurses. They also love teal. So I first found gorgeous teal floral robes from etsy. Then I found personalized tumbler cups I got each with their initials and name and favorite colors. So then with this I though what about a spa box. So I found at kohls candies brand pear lotion, body wash, body spray, bubbly bath all in teal. Then I got a lufa, sleep mask, and mud mask cream. Does this sound really cheap? I did end up spending over $50 on each girl. I was thinking I may find nail polish and slippers but I have to find some. I also already plan on doing flip flops for the reception so ill also get one for each bridesmaid to make sure they have some. Idk I'm so torn I don't want it to look cheap but I also want to pamper my girls after all the stress they have dealt with. For my MOH I also plan on getting a gift card for the place she gets her nails done.

You're fine although I would not have personalized the tumblers.  I would also rethink the flip-flops for everyone (esp. the guests).  I know it is trendy to do this but they are not easy to dance in and you could not pay me to wear them when I am in a nice dress.  People going to wedding know they are going to be on their feet for a while and will wear shoes that are comfortable (or they will do what generations of women have done: deal).

eta:  May 24 in Philadelphia can get chilly at night and legs certainly won't have even the start of a summer tan yet.  A lot of the women who are guests will probably be wearing nylons which means they can't even get a flip-flop on their foot.

Also, how much stress do you think BMs are under?  It's not that stressful to give you their budget (that you stay within), get their dress and show up wearing it.  That is the extent of their duties.  If they volunteer to help you with something else or choose to throw you a pre-wedding party of some sort, great but it is not required.

I think the gifts you chose are fine. It sounds like you chose things that they will like and are personal to an extent. Both my girls have similar tastes, so I gave them both the same thing but personalized: insulated lunch totes in their favorite colors with their initials monogrammed on them. Since they are both teachers and bring their lunch to school every day and like monogrammed bags, they loved them.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I think your gifts are really nice for your bridesmaids.  They will not seem cheap and if you kinow that it is something they will enjoy then they will be happy with them!

  • I think it sounds great!  I'm doing something similar; I sell Mary Kay, so I'm putting together "spa kits" of Mary Kay products and giving them monogramed tote bags and a necklace, as well!  :)
  • I'm not promoting my business, what so ever. They all have given me wish lists of products they would like to have but can't afford right now, is it so wrong to take advantage of the discount the company provides me to get my best girls the products that they want but can't afford, AS A GIFT?!? It's to like I'm giving them gift certificates for my business when they have to order and buy my product, I'm gifting them product that THEY want, along with other, non Mary Kay related items.
  • No problem! My girls love the products too but because they are either in college and struggling, just out of college and paying back loans, or whatever their case may be, they just can't afford all the products that they love and want!
