• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think?I half watched them. I kept making fun of Sarah jessica Parker's "dress"....does she not know that she's NOT Carrie Bradshaw?!
Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture?I am STOKED! Now I must see this Hurt Locker film. Although, it looks incredibly sad.
Favorite Johnny Depp movie:Hmm, too many are good. I love Pirates (the first one only) and Edward Scissorhands! Has anyone see Alice yet?
Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased:I think I bought a pair that cost 70 bucks. I have never paid over 100, that's for sure!

• Hahaha, I caught this before I left for work!

Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? I did not. I did enjoy my friends making commentary on FB about it all night, though.

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? I'm glad. I didn't even see it, but I've always been a huge fan of "Avatar: The Last Air Bender" (Which, I'm getting nervous about being a movie this summer) ... so I'm still a little mad that I keep hearing "Avatar this" and "Avatar that" and think for a second "Oh, yes, awesome series" ... and then of course, it being about the "blue people movie", lol.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: Probably Pirates. My little sister saw "Alice" for her birthday Fridy night and she said that was pretty awesome, so I might have to change my answer soon, lol.

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: Hmm ... I'm an avid clearance rack stalker, I very rarely buy clothes that aren't on some type of sale ... I'm guessing $50, because that sounds like it would be my limit.

Meg, I saw a couple episiodes of the show on Cartoon Network. It was pretty good. I have a couple friends, sister included, who are big fans of the show so I will be hearing if the movie is any good. I think I was the only one in the theater that knew that it was also called Avatar. They pretty much illiminated that title. Maybe for confusion?

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think?
I did. I recorded it so I didn't have to sit through the commercials and just as it went to it's last commercial it cut off! So I didn't see the best actor/actress/picture people accepting their awards. Boo!

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture?
I really liked Avatar but I knew it wasn't going to win. I figured Hurt Locker was going to take it.

Stina- you should watch it. It's a really good movie. Not too sad.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie:
Hands down, Edward Scissorhands!

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased:
Probably about $80.

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? Nope. I will never watch the Oscars.

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? I think so... but I've never seen Avatar.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: Pirates of the Carribbean (all!) or Sweeney Todd. I'd like to see Alice in Wonderland, though.

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: Usually something like $60 - $80 (from the Gap). But, I'm toying with the idea of buying some more expensive ones in the future. Since I'm almost done with grad school, I feel the need to overhaul my wadrobe.
• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? I watched the first half. I LOVED Christoph Wentz's winning speech. He was so incredibly gracious and humble. I didn't love "Inglorious Basterds", but he was fantastic in it.

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? I haven't seen Avatar, so I can't say I have an opinion, besides being shocked.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: Pirates of the Caribbean, or Chocolat.

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: I am a jeans cheapskate. The most expensive pair of jeans I've bought was from The Gap.

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? Yes, but I was on my computer the whole time so I was only half paying attention. I totally agree with you, Baystate, about Christoph Waltz. I didn't like IB, but he was great and 100% deserved to win.

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? I liked Avatar, but don't think it deserved Best Picture

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: Chocolat or the first Pirates movie

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: About $100, but that was several years ago, I've scaled back since then--the last two I've bought were 19.99 at The Gap (I talked about that find for weeks!).
• I LOVED Inglorious basterds! I thought that it was a beautiful film. I don't even like Tarantino!

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? Watched every second of it, and loved every second of it. I thought Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were hilarious, and the show seemed to have a really good rythm, even if it went long.

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? Absolutely delighted. Avatar doesn't impress me enough as a film with a flimsy story and fantastic visuals. Besides, if a sci-fi film were going to win, it should have been District 9. Now that was an exceptional film.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: 3-way tie between Crybaby, Edward Scissorhands and What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: Maybe $60...I think that's about as high as I would go.

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think? On and off. I thought the salute to horror films was a waste of time, mostly because 1) Kristen Stewart can't read a teleprompter to save her life, and 2) it felt really out of place. Overall not a bad as other oscars I've seen.
Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? I was rooting for "Up".
Favorite Johnny Depp movie: "Pirates of the Carribbean" (the first one), "Sleepy Hollow" and "Edward Scissorhands". The man is such a chameleon I'd watch him in anything.
Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: Full price jeans at GAP. Which were totally worth it--3 years later they're like new.

• Oscars? Yep. Really liked it. Love that Sandra Bullock won!!! I'll also add that I loved Penelope Cruiz's dress. It's pretty similar to my wedding dress!
Avatar? Yeah. I don't think they did as well as they thought they would.

• Did you watch the Oscars? If so, what did you think?
We were out to eat and it was on the tv. I didn't hear anything but I saw parts. I saw an ugly dress that was huge in the back and split really short in the front. Worse Dressed list for sure

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture?
Haven't seen it, and have no desire to

Favorite Johnny Depp movie:
I do like him in Pirates. I enjoy some of the movies from when I was a kid too. Benny & Joon Wha't Eating Gilbert Grape

Lucky Jeans $104. Any my fat arse doesn't fit in them anymore :(

Yay, I'm not alone! I keep getting confused and I *did* see the movie.

The series is amazing, although I think they could have used an extra episode or two to tie up some of the loose ends they left. I'm definitely nervous for the movie this summer, considering the disaster that is the casting. How much clearer did they have to make it that these characters are not white???

Anyone else glad that Avatar didn't win best picture? Yes - I liked the visuals, but it was Pocahontas crossed with Fern Gully. Pretty alone does not a best picture make.

Favorite Johnny Depp movie: POTC

Most expensive jeans you've ever purchased: $150 Guide & Mary's. I love their jeans. Definitely a splurge, though.

DH and I looooooooooovvvvvvveeeee "Avatar" ... however, we know better than to trust M. Knight ... and the trailers already have us scared (Ok, seriously? That was the best they could do for Katara? And while Sokka looks just like the cartoon character ... he looks like a frickin' chartoon character!!!!!). But we loved the series so much, we know we're going to see it.

Yeah, I don't trust him either. The saving grace for me right now is that the bending looks AMAZING. So I'm definitely going to see it. I just may need to come home afterward and put on my DVDs and watch Book 1 straight through to get the taste out of my mouth after.

Have you seen aing-aint-white @ livejournal? They'd made some great casting suggestions. It's a shame MKS didn't care about actually representing the characters. I don't actually see the resemblance with either Katara or Sokka, except for Sokka's hair. They're supposed to be Inuit!! And Zuko's face looks barely scarred at all.

Okay, rant over. But nice to see a fellow fan. I got my nephews (to be) hooked on it, but they like it on a different level than I do, lol.
