Cheap Venue and Cater

I am in desperate need of help.  I am on an extremely tight budget with a guest list of 250.  I need any ideas here in San Antonio for a cheap reception site and caterer.

I see postings on craigslist all the time for $7-10 plates and free use of civic center or pavillion space. The food is usually tex-mex plates but great for feeding large numbers on a small budget.

What is your idea of a tight budget? 5k? 10K? That will help us provide you some suggestions.

I thought $10K was considered a moderate budget. I think tight budget is closer to $2K-3K.

I think it's kind of vague to say tight budget - everyone's definition is different.
